Bye, Megyn! Kelly Clarkson In Talks To Replace Disgraced Host Kelly On 'Today' After Scandal
Oct. 25 2018, Updated 3:43 p.m. ET
Megyn Kelly seems to be on her way out the door at Today – and NBC execs are already in talks to replace her with The Voice coach Kelly Clarkson, RadarOnline.com can exclusively report.
The head honchos at the network "think it might be perfect time to give her Today time slot to Kelly, who has a huge fan base and is extremely well-liked and relatable," one source told RadarOnline.com.
Another insider said that unlike with Kelly, NBC talent and crew "love" Clarkson.
The superstar singer "is a huge part of the NBC family."
A third source claimed Clarkson was "approached" by NBC, and is "willing to take on any job thrown her way."
In addition to being popular with viewers, "Kelly is the most non-biased person on the planet, and does not have an ounce of racism in her," the third source said.
As RadarOnline.com extensively reported, Kelly, 47, shocked viewers by defending blackface on her 9 am show on Tuesday, October 23. She apologized the following day, but it seemed to be a case of too little, too late.
She is not airing new shows for the rest of the week, and production chose to run an old episode this morning from August of this year.
According to reports, she is officially on her way out, and will meet with her high-powered attorney and NBC execs on Friday morning to negotiate her exit.
Meanwhile, Clarkson, 36, scored an NBC talk show in addition to her ongoing The Voice gig. The show would air at 9 am instead of later in the day, multiple sources told RadarOnline.com.
