O.J. Simpson was granted parole by the board in Nevada on Thursday, July 20, 2017.
The former NFL star was told by the four member panel that he would be released “when eligible,” which will be in October.
“Considering all these factors, my decision is to grant your parole when effective when eligible,” one panel member said.
The decision was unanimous.
“Mr. Simpson I do vote to grant parole when eligible,” the Commissioner of the panel said.
“Thank you,” Simpson said to the panel after lowering his head almost to the table after the final verdict was read.
A smiling Simpson immediately left the room, waving to his family.
