The December 26, 1996 murder of six-year-old JonBenét Ramsey has remained unsolved for years, but could a new Investigation Discovery documentary finally provide answers two decades after her gruesome death?

In a three-night event, which begins September 12, JonBenét: An American Murder Mystery examines the events leading up to the child’s slaying, and sheds new light on evidence in this heart-wrenching case.

The docuseries provides in-depth analysis of conflicting theories of the case re-examines every twist, turn, lead, theory, suspect in this puzzling and tragic mystery. While authorities initially focused their suspicions on the family, the Ramseys always insisted that an intruder must have gained entry to their home, killing their daughter, hitting her with a heavy object before strangling her with a cord. The murderer even fed the young girl pineapple shortly before she died, leaving remnants in her stomach which would provide one of the most puzzling of all pieces of evidence.
