As Jenelle Evans’ job was on the chopping block, RadarOnline.com exclusively learned that MTV was considering firing her and replacing her with Teen Mom 3 star Mackenzie McKee!
While filming was “on hold” for Teen Mom 2 star Evans after her husband’s homophobic rant got him fired and as the network weighed their options to fire her, an insider dished to RadarOnline.com that an MTV production crew was already working with McKee.
"Mackenzie is filming a short special right now,” an insider told RadarOnline.com. “MTV has wanted to continue with her story for a while. They want to bring her back.”
Another source told RadarOnline.com that the timing of the special worked out well.
“This is a test for her, but she may be the one who replaces Jenelle if the network fires her.”
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, the network had also considered using McKee to replace Farrah Abraham after she was fired from Teen Mom OG.
McKee was no stranger to the Teen Mom family, but her addition to Teen Mom 2 was thwarted when Briana deJesus was given a spot on the show.
Evans’ future with the show was undecided, with MTV threatening to fire her after Eason’s homophobic Tweets where he wrote:
“Lmao why don’t you go tell the homo and transgender parents to start teaching their kids better morals? Oh I forgot thats supposed to be normal.”
“David Eason’s personal comments do not reflect the views of MTV. With six weeks left of production on ‘Teen Mom 2,’ effective immediately, we are ending our relationship with him,” the network said in a statement released on February 20, 2018.
An insider told RadarOnline.com Evans was pushing back against the network.
“Jenelle has said she wants to quit the show. She wants to show support of her husband and says they are a team.”
