Late, Beloved 'Frasier' Star John Mahoney Leaves Surprising Will
Frasier star John Mahoney reportedly left behind an estate worth more than $5 million that could be divided among 38 beneficiaries!
According to a website, which discovered legal documents in a probate case filed by Bernard Dowling, a friend of Mahoney's, about $300,000 of the amount is in real estate.
Mahoney, who died of throat cancer complications in hospice at age 77 last month, has 38 friends and family members who could benefit in the will.
The stage star shot to fame as Martin Crane, the rough-hewn, live-in retired father of radio psychiatrist Dr. Frasier Crane, played by Kelsey Grammer. The hit sitcom ran from 1993-2004.
After Mahoney's death, Grammer wrote emotionally on Twitter about his esteemed co-star, "He was my father. I loved him."
Jane Leeves, who portrayed Daphne Moon on Frasier, reflected on Mahoney's generous spirit after his death, saying he was the "dearest, sweetest man I have ever known."

Mahoney, who was born in England, moved to America when he was 18 and didn't become a professional actor until he was in his 40s.
He never married and was famously private, refusing to do any Frasier reunions.
