Nilsa Prowant has been open about her divorce on Floribama Shore – but she forgot to mention that she was still married during filming! Explosive divorce papers exclusively obtained by RadarOnline.com reveal her ex-husband didn’t file for divorce until after filming.
Court documents obtained from Onslow County Court in North Carolina reveal James Anderson filed for divorce on September 28, 2017. They were married on December 1, 2014 and were separated on September 22, 2016.
“Various unfortunate and unhappy difficulties, disputes and differences have arisen, as the result of which the parties are no longer able to live together in peace and harmony,” the papers read. “Therefore, necessary for the health, happiness and well-being of both parties that they live separate and apart from one another.”
In Prowant’s answer to the divorce filing on October 31, 2017, she asked that the divorce be granted “as soon as possible.”
The couple agreed to a separation and property settlement before the divorce filing on January 20, 2017.
Anderson paid Prowant $1,000 per month in alimony from February 1, 2017 to July 1, 2017. He also made monthly payments to her motor vehicle until March 1, 2017. He also provided Prowant with medical and dental insurance until the divorce was finalized.
Both parties agreed to retain their sole and separate property such as cars, jewelry, household accessories, furniture, clothing and more.
Anderson was also responsible for paying off marital debt and bills including car payments and credit card bills. The approximate balance at the time was $25,850.
The divorce was finalized on November 17, 2017.
Prowant revealed on the MTV show that she got married to a marine when she was 20 years old.
“We were so in love and he was so good,” she told her housemates. “I thought he was going to be the guy for me forever. He was amazing and my parents loved him. And then we decided… The one thing a woman wants to have in life is to have a baby so we got pregnant and then I lost the baby, I had a miscarriage. After the miscarriage, my husband deployed a month later. I had to get over that myself.”
She then revealed that he cheated on her when he came home from deployment.
“The guy I married turned out not to be what I thought he was,” she said.
The show premiered on November 27, 2017. During Prowant’s time on the show, she went on a date with housemate Gus Smyrnios and tried to pursue fellow co-star Jeremiah Buoni. She hooked up with Buoni’s brother Josh on the show.
