Dad Inconsolable After Learning Son Was Killed In CA Shooting: ‘I Miss Him So Much'
Every parent’s worst nightmare was emotionally brought to life Thursday, as Jason Coffman held a heartbreaking press conference just moments after learning his son was one of 12 people killed in the mass shooting at Borderline Bar & Grill in Thousand Oaks, Calif.
“This was my first-born son,” Jason said through tears, confirming his 22-year-old son Cody was one of the victims. “Only him and I know how much I love, how much I miss him.”
Cody leaves behind three little brothers, and an unborn sister due at the end of the month.
"I have a daughter coming on the 29th of this month,” Jason continued, his face wet with tears. “He was so excited to have his first sister, and now she will never know him.”
Jason says his son went to the bar every Wednesday night to line dance.
“I talked to him last night before he headed out the door. First thing I said is, ‘please don’t drink and drive.’ Last thing I said is, ‘I love you.'”
