The premiere of ABC's competition show Dancing With the Stars is still a few weeks away, but RadarOnline.com has learned there is already drama backstage!
An on-set source told Radar exclusively that some of the season's new contestants believe iconic gymnast Mary Lou Retton, 50, has an "unfair advantage."
"Mary Lou is in it to win it, and a lot of the stars are complaining she has an unfair advantage with her athletic background," said the source.
In addition, the source said Retton, 50 — who won the gold medal for the U.S. in the 1984 Olympics — "has already been acting like a huge diva."
"She is a very, very good dancer," the source explained. "But she's been bragging that she got the biggest salary because she thinks she is the biggest name."
But there's room for more than one diva, as the source also told Radar that singing sensation Tinashe, 25, has been ruffling feathers.
"Tinashe knows that she is the biggest name as far as the millennials go," the source said. "A lot of people think this is just a big publicity stunt for her to become a bigger recording artist."
Aside from Retton and Tinashe, the contestants fighting for this season's mirror ball trophy include internet model Alexis Ren, 21, Harry Potter actress Evanna Lynch, 27, stand-up comic Nikki Glaser, 34, Smallville actor John Schneider, 58, retired pro-football player Demarcus Ware, 36, author and radio personality Bobby Bones, 38, paralympian and alpine skier Danelle Umsted, 46, Fuller House star Juan Pabol Di Pace, 39, and former Bachelorette contestant "Grocery Store" Joe Amabile, 32.
Dancing with the Stars season 27 premieres Monday, Sept. 24 at 8/7c on ABC.
