Crew Member Dies After Horrific Fall On Mr. Rogers Movie Set With Tom Hanks
A thrilling event turned to tragedy on the Mr. Rogers movie set this Thursday, when a crew member fell two stories to his death.
As RadarOnline.com has learned, James M. Emswiller, 61, of Pittsburgh was resting on the roof of a building between scenes, when he sudden suffered a medical emergency and slid off.
According to reports, it is likely he had a heart attack, apart from maintain serious injuries from his fall.
Police arrived at around 7:30 p.m. to assist the injured crew member after an on-set nurse and other members tried to help him.
He was transported to the hospital in critical condition and pronounced dead soon after.
Emswiller was part of the sound crew for You Are My Friend, a film based on the life of Pittsburgh icon Fred Rogers, in which Tom Hanks is an actor.
Filming was halted for the evening, according to CBS News. It is still unclear whether it will resume this Friday.
