“I don't feel like this is even real right now. It's like a nightmare I can't wake up from,” he said. “When I got home yesterday it was like a ghost town. She wasn't here. The kids weren't here. I have no idea, like, where they went.”

“She said she was going to a friend's house with the kids and that’s the last thing I heard, and that was it. It was very vague,” Watts added at the time. “She said she was going to a friend's house with the kids and that’s the last thing I heard, and that was it. It was very vague.”

Then, in a shocking turn of events, the killer confessed to his horrific crime.

According to various outlets, Watts told his family members about the killings this Wednesday, and was arrested later that day.

While authorities have not revealed what caused the Colorado resident to murder his children and wife, he was charged with murder this Thursday, just as investigators retrieved the body of his deceased wife, Shannan.
