Accused Killer Chris Watts Transferred To 'Close Watch Unit' In Jail

Accused Colorado killer Chris Watts is being held in a jail Close Watch Unit so officers can “keep an eye on him” and monitor his behavior.

The Colorado dad — who has been charged with murdering his wife Shanann, 34, and children Bella, 4 and Celeste, 3, by strangling them — has been transferred to a secure part of the correctional facility, where he has his own cell.

Officer Francisco Salcedo confirmed to RadarOnline.com exclusively Watts is being held under Close Watch in Weld County Jail where jail wardens “keep a close eye” on inmates, but denied Watts is on suicide watch.

Salcedo said in Close Watch an officer is always present to monitor inmates, but added: “He’s not hurting himself.”

Asked if Watts would be transferred to the unit for his own safety, officer Salcedo said he could not comment, nor give more specific information about the unit per jail policy.

Chris was arrested less than 24 hours after her went on TV news to plead for the safe return of his young family. He then admitted to strangling his wife in a fit of rage and told police where the bodies were located.

A police report showed they believed he had been having a relationship with a woman other than his wife at the time of the murders.
