Chrissy Teigen has no regrets about becoming a mom to two beautiful children, but in a recent interview, the model admitted her post-partum depression hit her hard, following Luna’s birth.
Speaking of how her mood changed after welcoming her daughter into the world, Teigen, 32, told Women’s Health Magazine that she began boozing a little too much.
“After Luna, I was drinking too much,” said the beauty. “I wasn’t eating as much because I was full from drinking. I wasn’t being good to my body. I remember being so bruised from nothing.”
Teigen previously admitted that husband John Legend helped her through her depression, and supporter her when she failed to feel connected to her newborn girl.
At the same time, the beauty was writing a cook book. Since she was not feeling herself or treating her body well, the experience was “torturous.”
Eventually, Teigen had to go on an antidepressant, and she and Legend, 39, decided to take a wellness retreat to their COMO Shambhala Estate in Bali.
Once they arrived, Teigen felt her entire perspective shift, and realized her mental and physical health was the most important thing.
“It’s like, what could be more important than mental health? What’s more important than being proud of yourself and doing the best you can for your body?” she said.
After giving birth to son Miles this year, Teigen and Legend took another Bali vacation with their little family. The model shared gorgeous snaps of their time there, often posting photos of their healthy meals, stunning Bali landscapes, colorful outfits, and of course, of their adorable babies.
During their getaway, Teigen also shared some very candid photos of her new “mom bod,” reminding her followers that motherhood is hard and having a perfect Instagram model body is hardly realistic.
