In honor of Veterans Day, check out this incredible story about a man who snuck into the middle of the Vietnam War to save his friends . . . from running out of beer!

In 1968, three lifelong friends from New York City were serving during the deadliest period of the Vietnam War. Far from home and facing incredible danger, they were surprised to find a familiar face in the world's most unlikely place: Chickie Donohue.

Donohue was no soldier, but the Inwood neighborhood legend wouldn't let that stop him from seeing his friends. So, he hitched a ride into Vietnam and snuck into a war zone to bring his friends a small comfort from home: a case of Pabst Blue Ribbon!

Somehow, Chickie survived his adventure to the front lines, and his friends all lived to tell the tale. "The Greatest Beer Run Ever" is a short documentary that recounts Chickie's wild story, with the help of his friends Bobby Pappas, Tommy Collins, and Ricky Duggan.

As Chickie says: "It was one of them things!"
