Tyler Baltierra owes nearly $7,000 in taxes on his two homes, but his legal trouble doesn’t end there. RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal the Teen Mom OG dad has been hit with a lawsuit for failing to obtain the proper construction permits.
In court papers obtained from St. Clair County Circuit Court, Burtchville Township filed a lawsuit against Catelynn Lowell’s husband on December 21, 2017.
“After initially performing any work without permits, the Township discovered work was being performed and provided notice that permits must be obtained for the construction on the property,” the court papers read. “Mr. Baltierra, through his agent Catelynn Baltierra, did put a building permit application on or about March 27, 2017 claiming only work being done on the siding, front porch and gable gutters.”
But Baltierra did not pay the $583 due for the application and permit.
The Plaintiff also claimed Baltierra did more work on the home than described in the building permit application filed.
“The property was displayed on an episode of the television show Teen Mom showing electrical and plumbing work,” the court papers continued. “The work was in violation of Township Ordinance for failure to obtain electrical, plumbing, mechanical and other permits so that the work could be done by appropriately licensed professionals and inspect by the Township.”
Baltierra did not apply for the appropriate system permits and the work on the property has not been inspected.
The plaintiff alleged that Baltierra continues to reside or allows others to reside in the home, even though it is unfit for occupancy.
The plaintiff asked the court to have Baltierra apply for all appropriate building permits, pay for the past permit, have inspectors inspect the home, order anyone living in the home to vacate, and pay the plaintiff proper relief.
Baltierra has a court hearing scheduled for May 29, 2018.
On Teen Mom OG, Baltierra and his dad Butch were filmed renovating homes.
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Baltierra owes $1,794.88 for the 2016 year and $2,641.60 for the 2017 year on their previous home.
Lowell and Baltierra, both 26, were then slapped with a delinquent tax bill for $2,545.32 for the 2017 year on another home.
The lawsuit came after Lowell entered rehab on November 17 after suffering suicidal thoughts following a miscarriage. She entered rehab again on January 17.
