The battle lines are drawn in this year's presidential campaign, and now, so are the candidates! Apparently unable to book the real thing, Stephen Colbert brought a cartoon version of presidential candidate Donald Trump on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert last night to talk about the latest campaign controversies.
Cartoon Trump had fighting words for Anderson Cooper after the TV politico likened him to "a five-year-old" on CNN's Republican town hall Tuesday night.
“Anderson Cooper is a dumb-dumb,” Cartoon Trump exclaimed. “He’s a stupid head. He’s a totally poopy-pants.”
Colbert replied, “Right. Now you’re sounding a little immature.”
Cartoon Trump had his rapid response ready: “I know you are but what am I?”
Colbert then asked about the notorious video tape showing Trump’s campaign manager Corey Lewandowski allegedly grabbing a female reporter for Breitbart. Lewandowski turned himself in to facebattery charges on Tuesday, but the real Trump and Cartoon Trump are both still on his side.
Colbert and the cartoon's discussion of the matter quickly turned into a bitter “No he didn’t” and “Yes he did” back-and-forth, which ended only after Cartoon Trump said, “No he didn’t infinity."
Cartoon Trump also displayed a pen phobia, as he screamed and moved away when Colbert was poking his pen towards him. That bit was in reference to Trump's recent comments about a female reporter’s pen looking like a bomb.
The real Trump has made appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel Live! and has called into Colbert’s show in the past.
