Becca Kufrin and Garrett Yrigoyen are engaged—and suddenly, all of the hunk's past controversies are resurfacing.
As RadarOnline.com readers know, Yrigoyen, 29, went under fire a few months ago after fans noticed he'd been liking hateful, transphobic and racist posts on Instagram.
Eventually, the handsome star apologized, saying that he is now more educated and that his 'likes' do not reflect his values.
Kufrin, 28, also stood by him after the hate, long before fans knew he'd become her Bachelorette winner.
"At his core, he's a good guy. We've all made mistakes and done things that aren't perfect. But all I could ask for is somebody who owns up to what they've done and who apologizes and wants to grow. And that's what he's done," she said at the time.
Now, after the final rose has been given, Yrigoyen is still explaining himself!
"It was tough," he told PEOPLE. "I didn't mean to offend anyone."
"Just because I liked it, doesn't necessarily mean that I supported it," he added, speaking of his Instagram liking habits. "I was raised in a very open-minded family that was accepting to everybody. We're very non-judgmental. I'm genuinely sincere."
