Amy Duggar Slams Derick Dillard After Hateful Speech: ‘You Should Be Compassionate'
Amy Duggar has come forward in support of homosexuality, one month after her cousin's husband, Derick Dillard, went on a Twitter rampage against the LGBTQ community.
“You might not agree with someone or their lifestyle but you SHOULD be compassionate and show God's love regardless to everyone,” she tweeted this Wednesday.
A fan then praised her for being so kind and supportive, to which the star, 31, replied: “I have friends that are gay and I still love them as a person. Thank you for following.”

As RadarOnline.com readers know, Jill Duggar’s husband Derick, 28, went under fire after he bashed the transgender community all over social media.
“No one – women, men, children or transgender persons – should be subjected to any form of exploitation or targeted for discrimination. Transsexual and transgendered persons are entitled to the same human and civil rights as others,” he shared on Twitter, then adding, “Recognizing these rights, however, does not mean that we must accept that hormones and surgery transform men into women and women into men; or that persons who self-identify as members of the opposite sex, are what they subjectively claim to be.”
He specifically insulted transgender YouTube star Jazz Jennings, 17, on social media, saying, "What an oxymoron. A ‘reality’ show which follows a non-reality. ‘Transgender’ is a myth. Gender is not fluid. It’s ordained by God.”
While some of his religious followers agreed with his controversial views, others slammed back in fury.
