Berkery reportedly uses the name "Jon Jones" in tribute to his father. He told the Mail that he spends his nights in a homeless shelter in Hoboken and also works a low-paid part-time job stacking shelves when he's not singing.
The homeless man said that he has never met his famous dad, adding, "I don't want anything from my dad, just his recognition….All I ever wanted was his love. People think I look and sound like a younger version of my dad."
Berkery noted about his father Tom, known for getting ladies' underwear thrown at him at sexy concerts, "I sing all his songs. People stop and stare as soon as I start singing." He reportedly was born after the famed pop star had a brief fling with Katherine Berkery, then a 24-year-old model, in New York in October 1987. Although Tom denied he was Berkery's dad, it was proved by a court-ordered paternity test in 1989.
