Selena Gomez has remained a number one Instagram choice for a couple of years now. The reigning queen’s Insta-missives often make the Top 10 celebrity posts of the year too. Gomez recently said that since her Lupus diagnosis and kidney transplant that she isn’t going to try to get people to like her as much. Will she be number one next year?

Ace soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo has been in the Top 10 for a while himself; in 2016 he was number six. He’s also often making the Top 10 Celebrity posts of the year because when he shoots, he scores.

Ariana Grande has held on to the number three spot since at least 2016. Her recent engagement to Saturday Night Live’s Pete Davidson has been lighting up her Instagram account for a month at least and shows no signs of stopping.

Beyonce Giselle Knowles-Carter has staying power too—she was number four on the list two years ago and she’s still there. The recent surprise release of her album Everything Is Love with husband Jay-Z crashed into number one and her Instagram’s been blowing up because of it.

Kim Kardashian is an Instagram perennial; she’s been number five for a few years now. She recently persuaded her sister Khloe’s boyfriend Tristan Thomas to unblock her (Thomas had reportedly blocked her after his cheating scandal) on video making for another break-the-internet moment on Instagram.

Taylor Swift has dropped ever-so-slightly over the past two years, from number two to number six—but that still ain’t bad (how many followers do you have?!). Swift recently obtained a five-year restraining order against a man arrested outside her home. But fans are free to follow her on Instagram at a safe and respectable distance.

Two years ago, Kylie Jenner was an unflappable number seven on the Instagram chart—and two years later, she’s still there. It was recently revealed that Jenner doesn’t live with her boyfriend and baby daddy Travis Scott, but instead with Jordyn Woods. Interestingly, Jenner recently sported a ring with the initials JW which match both the names of Travis Scott (his real name is Jacques Webster) and Jordan Woods…hmmm.

Dwayne Johnson’s position on Instagram actually is a rock—he held the number eight position back in 2016 too. Johnson is a consummate pranker and Jumanji co-star Kevin Hart complained that while shooting the sequel in Hawaii, Johnson would constantly plant fake spiders everywhere.

Justin Bieber is back in the Top 10—just—but he was well outside of it as recently as two years ago. He’s currently engaged to Hailey Baldwin—who reportedly took to her own Instagram recently to delete all pictures of her and Shawn Mendez. You’ll have to follow both Bieber and Baldwin’s accounts to see what happens as they plan their wedding!

Brazilian soccer star Neymar da Silva Santos Jnr—AKA Neymar—is a recent addition to the Instagram Top 10. It’s possibly because he played for Brazil in the World Cup this year and fans want to stay in immediate touch. Goooooal!

Lionel Messi is another internationally famous soccer star who plays for the Argentinian team in the 2018 World Cup. He recently made waves by wearing a ribbon on his ankle that a reporter’s mom had sent him for good luck. Both the reporter and his mom had no idea Messi would wear it—but it brought good luck as Messi wore it at one of his winning matches.

Just two years ago, Kendall Jenner was Number Ten on the list—now she’s dropped to number 12. But that might be all set to change now she’s moved in with boyfriend Ben Simmons into a $25k-a-month rental in the Mid-Wilshire area because pictures! Jenner and Simmons are hanging in their rental while Jenner waits for her new house—that she purchased from Charlie Sheen—to be renovated.

Onika Tanya Maraj—AKA Nicki Minaj—was Number Nine in 2016 but now she’s at Number 13—still not shabby by anyone’s count. Minaj recently offered her support to rapper Lil Uzi Vert who had asked celebs to help set up a fund to aid families of those killed by gun violence. Perhaps she can start by asking him to remove the “Uzi” from his name.

The Kardashians are all over Instagram, and Khloe is no exception. She recently forgave her boyfriend Tristan Thompson for cheating on her, reportedly with multiple women while she was pregnant. Expect pictures of them together to do even more internet breakage.

Jennifer Lopez recently shared a very sweet story on her Instagram; she was taking her ten-year-old daughter Emme to a series of meetings with book publishers for an idea Emme had. The book, entitled Lord Help Me, is illustrated and the comp cover features a little girl on her knees, praying.

Miley Cyrus loves doing good and recently launched a drive to raise money for migrant kids who have been unconscionably ripped away from their parents at the border. She directed her foundation Happy Hippie for KIND (Kids In Need of Defense) and as quickly raised tens of thousands.

She’s 39, he’s 25, and together it’s apparently fireworks all round—so much so that her baby daddy Scott Disick was reportedly sending her mean texts.

Rihanna is poised to increase her ranking on Instagram with the very recent report from Time that she’s one of the most influential people on the Internet. They said “When Rihanna speaks—more precisely grams—the whole world listens.”

Kevin Hart managed to make it through a major scandal in 2017; he was the subject of blackmail by someone who reportedly had video of him with a woman other than his wife in Las Vegas. Hart took to Instagram to come out ahead of the story, apologizing for a “bad error in judgement.”

Ellen DeGeneres is married—happily—to actress Portia de Rossi (also pictured)—but it wasn’t until rumors of a divorce surfaced that they both realized they were being truly accepted because, according to de Rossi, “we get the same s—t as every celebrity couple.” And no, they’re not getting divorced!

Who doesn’t love Mark Sinclair? That’s Vin Diesel’s real name and his dance card could not be fuller. He’s lined up to star in Bloodshot, a Sony movie that’s based on a comic book. Diesel recently received an honorary Ph.D. from Hunter College, 30 years after he left the school (he dropped out).

Shakira had to shake something more than her hips recently—she had to shake off a controversy that arose over a gold necklace she was selling as part of her El Dorado World Tour merchandise that looked extremely similar to a Nazi image. The necklace was designed by Live Nation but when the issue was raised, the necklace was removed. Live Nation said the design was based on pre-Columbian imagery.

Emma Watson began her career as one of the stars of Harry Potter but now she's all grown up. Watson recently reunited with her ex Chord Overstreet who, one can only assume, was named by parents who spent too much time reading comic books.
