‘Sweet Home Alabama’ Star’s Mother Murdered: Watch Suspect Use Her Stolen Credit Card

Sweet Home Alabama star Devin Grissom’s mother was brutally murdered in a home invasion and RadarOnline.com has obtained new details about the sickening crime. Susan Grissom was found dead on her kitchen floor in Memphis, Tennessee, with multiple gunshot wounds. Her daughter, Devin, shot to fame when she starred on the CMT reality show, a Southern version of The Bachelorette. Devin split with the man from the show but recently married Nashville realtor Jameson Roper. “I have no words,” Devin said about her mother’s horrific murder. Police tracked the suspect down after he attempted to use Susan’s stolen credit card. “I have no words other than thank you from the bottom of my heart for the outpouring of love and support for my sweet mom,” Devin about her mother’s devastating murder. Susan’s funeral was held on Monday, November 13, 2017.
“On Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at 6:47 p.m., Memphis Police Officers responded to a wounding call...Upon arrival, officers located the victim who has been positively identified as Susan Grissom, 56, deceased on the kitchen floor suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The home was burglarized and the victim was also robbed,” the police said on the Memphis PD Facebook page.
“Officers were able to obtain video that showed the suspect attempting to use the victim’s stolen card,” the Memphis PD said. “On Friday, November 10, 2017, a media release was issued with a video and photo of the suspect. Numerous Crime Stoppers Tips were received as a result of this media release and Kurtrell Williams, 21, was positively identified as the suspect. At 6:21 p.m., officers were able to locate Williams and take him into custody without incident.”
Williams was charged with first degree murder, first degree murder in perpetration of a robbery, first degree murder in perpetration of burglary, aggravated robbery, and especially aggravated burglary. He appeared in court on Monday and was held without bond.
