The ex-wife Steve Harvey has tried to silence defiantly appeared in a California court Monday where a judge heard her describe the mental anguish she still suffers as a result of his wrongdoings, even arguing she's suffered post-traumatic stress disorder, RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal!
Mary Vaughn, who was photographed appearing glum while leaving court, was married to the Family Feud host from 1996 to 2007 but she claims he kept her rightful share of millions in property and assets to himself and that his cheating on her triggered a breakdown, a lawsuit filed against the disgraced comedian states.
A source tells Radar Vaughn claims she was even driven from a mental health facility and made to sign a divorce decree while not in a correct state of mind.
At Los Angeles Superior Court, Vaughn — who has son Wynton, 20, with Harvey — argued she suffers post-traumatic stress disorder and hasn’t been receiving the proper medical care she needs, a court informant reveals to Radar.
In the civil suit she has brought against Harvey, 60, accuses him of emotional distress, invasion of privacy and conversion of property, among other things, and she is asking for compensation up to $60 million.
Harvey's lawyers fired back and are trying to have the case quashed, saying the claims made in the lawsuit are too vague, according to court docs.
The judge — who has so far refused to throw the case out — said in court Monday he will take everything into consideration and his judgement will be posted at a later time.
Steve has done everything in his power to silence Mary, sources reveal, including having her thrown in jail in 2013 for violating an earlier gagging order.
Insiders tell Radar he also personally flew to Texas and spent five hours trying to force Mary into signing a new gagging order, but she refused.
A member of Mary’s family told Radar: “He was sitting just feet away from her the entire time during the hearing, but wouldn’t address her himself. They did everything they could to get her to sign a new gag order, but she told them she wouldn’t and if they wanted to throw her in jail again, then fine. Steve could have sorted this out a long time ago, but he refuses and continues with his bullying ways," the family source continued.
“He likes to promote this image as a good guy and a family man but he’s torn Mary’s life apart, she’s never been the same since he cheated on her.” We pay for juicy info!
