Sam Smith has worked hard to shed the pounds, but is he taking his fitness journey too far?
The singer was flushed, red-faced, and clutching his chest as he went for a run Saturday.
The singer has slimmed down dramatically in the past several months, losing a whopping 50 pounds.
"From a young age food has controlled me," he said in an interview with A Current Affair.
"When I was at school and wasn't having a great time or when music wasn't going very well. I would eat, eat... eating would make me feel better. When I felt lonely I would eat."
But fans fear that his preoccupation with his weight is not healthy either.
"OMG @samsmithworld you are too skinny!! Stay healthy!!! pls," a concerned fan wrote on his Instagram photo.
But Smith has no intention of slowing down. "I saw a picture of me on New Year's Eve topless on a beach in Sydney and it made me want to kill myself," he admitted in 2015.
"I just thought I was huge. I've had issues with my weight since I was a kid...My dad became a fitness trainer when I was 12 and he tried to help me, but I've always had issues."
