Race To The Altar: 20 Hollywood Couples Who Could Tie The Knot In 2014
Dec. 9 2014, Updated 1:59 p.m. ET
Last year, a host of celebrities tied the knot, with some pulling off very private weddings (such as screen beauty Halle Berry) while others got married on camera (The Real Housewives of Orange County star Tamra Barney). So which celebrity couples could tie the knot in 2014 -- and in what style Here’s RadarOnline.com’s guide to this year’s most hotly anticipated weddings:
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West: The rapper proposed to the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star in a totally over-the-top way at AT & T Park on her 33rd birthday last October, and West has promised the wedding will be even bigger! West has revealed he and Kardashian are planning a summer 2014 ceremony and fans should expect “fighter jets.” And we don’t even think he was joking! In fact, the couple reportedly wants to wed at the famed Palace of Versailles in France. Will they defray some of the cost by featuring it on Kim’s E! reality show?
Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson
Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson: After having two kids with baby daddy Johnson, Simpson seems to know a wedding is way overdue! On Jan. 7’s Good Morning America, Simpson said, "We don't have an actual date but we do know that we want it to be this year. We need to get married." They’ve been engaged since November 2010 and might go with a spectacular destination wedding--in October, the two were seen scouting wedding locations in Capri.
Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux
Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux: Will the Friends girl next door, whose last husband, Brad Pitt, left her for Angelina Jolie, take the wedding plunge again? She and actor Theroux got engaged in August 2012 but they’re often rumored to be on-again, off-again. "We just want to do it when it's perfect, and we're not rushed, and no one is rushing from a job or rushing to a job," Aniston told US Weekly.
Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis
Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis: Wilde and Sudeikis got engaged in Jan. 2013 and are expecting their first baby. At the recent Golden Globes, the very pregnant Wilde told Ryan Seacrest she’s due on May 4 and it’s a boy. But no word on if she and funnyman Sueikis might also become Mr. and Mrs. in 2014! In the past, Wilde has said of choosing a wedding dress, “I just trust my eye.”
Katy Perry and John Mayer
Katy Perry and John Mayer: Rumors flew that the two singers were secretly planning a tropical wedding in late 2013, but it turned out they were just having a romantic vacation together in Hawaii. They have yet to even get officially engaged, but Perry, who had a brief marriage to Brit wild man Russell Brand, might well walk down the aisle with playboy Mayer, sources say. "They seemed really happy and in love" on holiday, a source told E!
Scott Disick and Kourtney Kardashian
Scott Disick and Kourtney Kardashian: Will 2014 be the year that Scott and Kourtney finally walk down the aisle? Lord Disick has been Kourtney’s baby daddy for seven years but with Mason, 5, and Penelope, 18 months, getting older, and Scott having tragically had both his parents die recently, the party boy might want to make it legal with the Kardashian sister. A source recently told Life & Style magazine that a 2014 wedding might be in the offing.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie: They’re Hollywood’s most famous unmarried couple but after seven years together and six kids, who knows if it will happen in 2014? Engaged since 2012, Pitt and Jolie have said in a declaration for gay marriage equality that they wouldn’t get married until everyone could. That time is getting closer as many states have legalized same-sex marriage. “The time is nigh…It’s soon,” Pitt has said of his possible wedding to the world’s most beautiful woman.
Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis
Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis: The former That ‘70s Show lovebirds haven’t announced an engagement yet, but according to an OK! Magazine source, Kutcher and Kunis are planning to wed in early 2014 in great style—“they’ve looked at castles and have even toyed with the idea of Stonehenge.” Maybe they’ve already picked up some ideas from family as Kutcher went with Kunis to her brother’s wedding in December.
Snooki Polizzi and Jionni LaValle
Snooki Polizzi and Jionni LaValle: The Jersey Shore firebrand and her baby daddy welcomed son Lorenzo in August 2012 and Snooki had a busy 2013 filming her show Snooki & Jwoww and Dancing with the Stars. But on her MTV show, Snooki was seen searching for a location and meeting with wedding planners. During an on-camera shopping trip with "Jwoww" Farley, Snooki said she’d found her dream wedding gown and insiders expect the ceremony will be filmed for TV.
Sofia Vergara and Nick Loeb
Sofia Vergara and Nick Loeb: The Modern Family va-va-voom sex symbol and her boyfriend have been engaged since July 2012, so it might be time for them to finally settle down. Surprisingly, in the November 2013 issue of Lucky, Vergara claimed she couldn't picture herself having an elaborate wedding. "Maybe we will just have a little dinner on Capri," she told the magazine. But just a few months later, Vergara contradicted herself, telling People magazine, "If I'm going to do something, it's going to have to be a big event. Nick and I want more like of a party with music, dancing, a lot of food; not really sitting there hours and giving speeches."
Lauren Conrad and William Tell
Lauren Conrad and William Tell: The former The Hills star and fashionista became engaged to guitarist/ law student Tell in October. A source has said Conrad might like to wed in early fall 2014, but Conrad has insisted she’s not going to be a Bridezilla because: “When girls get caught up in the timeline, it becomes more about the wedding than the marriage.”
Whitney Port and Tim Rosenman
Whitney Port and Tim Rosenman: Could two former The Hills stars get married in 2014? It’s looking that way as both Lauren Conrad and her ex-co-star Port are both planning weddings! Port has said of her upcoming nuptials with Rosenman, a former producer on her show, The City, "I have so many different ideas. I just want it to be low-key. I think something small." And the fashionista is designing her own wedding dress, of course!
Lance Bass and Michael Turchin
Lance Bass and Michael Turchin: The ex-‘N Sync star and boyfriend Turchin got engaged in August 2013, and late last year, Bass confirmed a late 2014 wedding. “We’ve slowly but surely started planning it,” he said. And the musician also has said, “I love a party. It's going to be nice and big and over the top" and he wants guests to attend “in high fashion…like…the Royal Wedding.” Bass even told ABC News his wedding may be televised, as the gay and proud couple has been approached by a network. Stay tuned!
Katie Couric and John Molner
Katie Couric and John Molner: In early September 2013, Couric’s beau asked her to marry him and she said yes! But the former Katie talk show host, 57, who just got a new job with Yahoo, told Access Hollywood their wedding would be tasteful and appropriate for a mother of two grown daughters. “It’s not like I’m 22 and I’m going to plan a big thing with a big fluffy fancy dress,” she said. “I want to do something that feels right for us and our situation.” Couric’s rep denied a recent National Enquirer report that the wedding was on hold after she and Molner, 50, squabbled over the prenup.
Naya Rivera and Big Sean
Naya Rivera and Big Sean: The rapper popped the question to the Glee star in October and Rivera has been wedding planning ever since, making it clear 2014’s the year! Rivera was seen shopping for a wedding gown at Monique Lhuillier just a week after announcing her engagement and she’s said Sean is "so involved" with the plans. "We're always on the same page about everything, which is probably why we're getting married," she gushed.
Hayden Panettiere and Wladimir Klitschko
Hayden Panettiere and Wladimir Klitschko: In her appearance on "Live With Kelly & Michael" on Oct. 9, 2013, the Nashville star announced she had secretly gotten engaged to her Ukrainian boxer boyfriend in March. But she might not win the celebrity race to the 2014 altar! On the Golden Globe Awards red carpet, Panettiere told E! she had ''not the slightest clue” when and where she’d wed. “I'm dealing with Americans and Ukrainians on the other side of the world so we have to find some common ground in between,'' the blonde beauty smiled.
Gretchen Rossi and Slade Smiley
Gretchen Rossi and Slade Smiley: Gretchen Rossi and Slade Smiley got engaged in April 2013 after she popped the question on camera for The Real Housewives of Orange County. The pair hasn’t announced a wedding date yet. Rossi told Celebuzz late last year Smiley wants to marry pronto while she longs for a baby first and has no interest in being a pregnant bride. “He’s very traditional,” Rossi said. But if Smiley convinces her to have a 2014 wedding, it won’t be on RHOOC—as RadarOnline.com has reported, Rossi was fired from the show after last season.
Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker
Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker: The Real Housewives of Atlanta star has been seen shopping for wedding gowns on the show—at least until her disapproving Mama Joyce had a bridal shop meltdown! But Burruss, who is engaged to TV producer Tucker, recently told an interviewer they hadn’t set a date yet. When they’re ready to wed, we’ll all know as it’s likely to be broadcast by Bravo (her co-star, NeNe Leakes, re-married husband Gregg Leakes last year courtesy of the network special I Dream of NeNe).
Taylor Armstrong and John Bluher
Taylor Armstrong and John Bluher: Former The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Armstrong got engaged to attorney Bluher after he proposed on vacation in Mexico last year. And it looks like they’re planning to wed soon, as her pal and co-star, Kyle Richards, told a reporter Armstrong has been pondering potential dates for the ceremony. But fans might wonder if they should wait after watching this season’s Couples Therapy on VH1. While appearing on the show with her fiancé, Armstrong has been drunk and disorderly and has admitted the memory of her late husband Russell’s abusive behavior has psychologically damaged her.
Neil Patrick Harris And David Burtka
Neil Patrick Harris And David Burtka: The How I Met Your Mother star and frequent awards show host has been engaged to his boyfriend since 2006, and they are parents to three-year-old twins Harper and Gideon (born via a surrogate). Harris and Burtka live in New York, where gay marriage is legal, so there are no obstacles to the happy couple. “The wedding itself will be fun, whether it’s big or small,” Harris told a reporter.
