Latifah, 48, has longed for a child for a long time, and now, Nichols is pregnant with their baby, a source told RadarOnline.com.
The Chicago star told a Television Critics Association crowd in August 2017 that she was ready to start a family: “I had to get a lot of partying out of my system early in life for about 40 years, you know what I’m saying. I’m good now. I think I’m ready.”
RadarOnline.com exclusively learned Latifah has been secretly visiting a cancer treatment center for almost a year, an insider said. For the past eight months, the rapper/actress has sneaked into a facility that specializes in cancer treatments and blood diseases, and has appeared weak and unsteady when leaving, sources say. But now, she's ready to become a parent with Nichols.

Latifah’s health crisis follows the death of her beloved mother, Rita Owens, who succumbed to a heart condition on March 21 after a decade-long battle. But there is a lot of joy in her life, too—Nichols was seen on Oct. 3 sporting a massive engagement and showing off a baby bump.
“Friends are saying Latifah and Eboni are finally engaged,” said an insider.
A source told RadarOnline.com, “This will be the first child for Latifah.”
Latifah met Nichols, a choreographer and former Los Angeles Lakers cheerleader, on the set of Dancing with the Stars in 2009.
It was clear the two were a couple when they were spotting kissing in Porto Cervo, Sardinia, in 2013. Latifah and Nichols split up in 2015 but reunited on a passionate getaway to Cabo San Lucas last summer. “Eboni looks so happy,” said the source. “She's positively glowing,” as she expects her child with Latifah.
