A judge has released the photos of Reeva Steenkamp after she was shot three times by Oscar Pistorius, who has returned to court to maintain his claim that he fired upon her accidentally. RadarOnline.com is publishing the photos after the request of Reeva Steenkamp's father, who asked the judge to reveal the horror inflicted upon his daughter.

Pistorius appeared in court today to try and convince the judge that the brutal killing of his girlfriend was accidental and not murder. The judge allowed never-before-seen photos of her dead body to be released to the public during the hearing.

Reeva Steenkamp was just 29 when Pistorius shot her on Valentine's Day in 2013. Her father, Barry Steenkamp, begged the judge to release the photos for the "world to see" the pain inflicted upon his daughter.

Her right eye was swollen and bruised and she had blood coming out of her nostrils. The Blade Runner was initially found guilty of manslaughter, but that was overturned and he was found guilty of murder.

"Isn't it time for the world to see what Oscar Pistorius did with Black Talon rounds to Reeva Steenkamp's head?" State Prosecutor Gerrie Nel said about the photos.

Black Talon bullets were used by Pistorius when he shot Steenkamp. The bullets were used by the military and designed to expand upon impact to create extensive damage.

The prosecutor said the photos had previously been sealed from the public "to protect the integrity of the deceased."

Pistorius was arguing for a reduction in his 15-year sentence. He removed his prosthetic legs during the court appearance in order to demonstrate how he walked the night of the crime.

Steenkamp hid behind the bathroom door as Pistorius fired into the room. She was struck in the head, elbow and hip as she cowered in the small room.
