In St. Lucie County court documents obtained by RadarOnline.com, the killer's parents, Seddique and Shahla Mateen, were sued for foreclosure on their mortgage. The couple owed $276,617.29 on their St. Lucie County home, records indicate. (The case was dismissed in February 2012.)

Three years prior, the couple sued a woman who they allege caused a car crash back in 2006, leaving the Seddique injured and unable to work to his full capacity. The family lost the case, and was ordered to pay nearly $13,000 to the defendant. An appeal was dismissed.

The Mateen's son was also struggling. As RadarOnline.com reported, he declared $0 in assets during his nasty divorce from ex-wife Sitora Yusufiy.
Omar, who was a security guard before his death, had a shady employment history. As RadarOnline.com exclusively reported, he worked at least six different jobs between 2002 and 2006, and was even fired from a Jensen Beach, Florida, Chick-fil-A for "failing to meet performance standards," an employee said.
