Check out these unconventional methods some celebrities have taken to achieve a slimmer waistline.
Gwyneth Paltrow:
The actress is known for her grueling workouts with celebrity personal
trainer Tracy Anderson. But Gwyneth reportedly also drinks two liters of
water a day
and has regular colonics to stay slim‹and remain 2013’s most beautiful
woman in the world (at least according to People Magazine!)
Megan Fox: The Transformers beauty said she’s
taken shots of apple cider vinegar before each meal to lose weight.
Advocates claim that vinegar flushes out fats in the colon, helping the
body digest food while curbing
cravings.
Elizabeth Hurley: In 2007, the actress claimed she dropped ten pounds in
seven days on the watercress soup diet.
"I drink at least six cups a day when I am eager to lose a few pounds,"
she told the
Daily Mail of the soup that typically consists of onions, chicken broth,
watercress, salt, and pepper. "It's fat-less, low-calorie, full of
vitamins and iron, and delicious enough to serve at
a dinner party."
Kim Catrall:
It’s Salmon in the City for the
Sex and the City star! Kim reportedly was eating fish 3 times a day to
look good.
Mariah Carey:
Mariah Carey said in 2007 that she'd dropped two dress sizes by following
a "bleak diet" built around fish and soup prepared really blandly with
no oil or butter.
But the hourglass-figured singer doesn’t stress out about her weight too
much: I don’t feel like you have to be a size zero.
Uma Thurman:
Uma apparently exists only on raw food. Why? According to raw foodies,
energy-boosting enzymes are destroyed by cooking.
Miranda Kerr:
The former Victoria's Secret Angel has stayed skinny by drizzling four
teaspoons of coconut oil over her meals.
Kirsten Dunst: The actress reportedly follows the pH diet, which
balances alkaline to
acidic foods in order to improve overall health. The ideal ration is 70
percent alkaline to 30 percent acid.
Kate Winslet: After giving birth to her daughter Mia in 2000, the Titanic
star shed pregnancy
weight with the Facial Analysis Diet, created by nutritionist Elizabeth
Gibaud. According to Gibaud, differently shaped faces need different
diets, and facial imperfections, such as forehead wrinkles or large
pores, need to be analyzed for nutritional imbalances.
Winslet reportedly lost more than 50 pounds on the diet.
Sarah Michelle Gellar: The former
Buffy The Vampire Slayer star supposedly follows the "cabbage soup diet."
It mandates eating nothing but cabbage soup and a couple of other other
fruits and veggies for seven days.
Madonna: The Material Girl isn’t so substantial when she wants to lose
weight. She has followed
The Air Diet, a French fad diet in which you cook food, put it on your
plate, hold it up to your mouth--but don’t take a bite. The diet is
supposed to fool your body into thinking you've eaten. Mostly, however,
Madonna eats organic foods‹and favors
flaxseed oil, which supposedly has slimming qualities.
Laura Prepon: Former
That Œ70s Show star Laura Prepon once turned pregnancy hormones into a
weight loss plan. I did the hCG Diet, she told Health Magazine.
You’re injected with a hormone that's extracted from the urine of
pregnant women!" Followers of the plan can
supposedly burn excess fat, without exercise, as long as they consume
only 500 calories a day.
Mel B: In 2010, the Spice Girl told George Lopez that her shape-up secret
was very spicy--she and husband Stephen Belafonte had sex up to five
times a day! We’re both just perverts with each other, Mel, now a judge
on
America’s Got Talent, laughed.
Adrianna Lima:
The supermodel has revealed that she only drinks liquids for the nine
days before the Victoria’s Secret annual fashion show. Twelve hours
before it begins, she stops drinking
liquids in order to purge the water weight as well.
Kylie Minogue:
The Aussie singer eats a grapefruit before every meal to stimulate weight
loss.

sugar-free candy. The ten-calorie lollies contain welltrim, an African
mango extract which suppresses hunger. Dr. Oz has even recommended them!
Christina Aguilera:
The Voice judge reportedly loves the 7-Day Color Diet, which involves
eating only
foods of the same color on a certain day. Each day allows the star to
only eat foods from one hue, starting with white, then followed by red,
green, orange, purple, and yellow.
Kelly Osbourne:
The Fashion Police co-host, who has fought a weight battle her whole
life, told
Health magazine pickles are now her diet secret! "When you're on a diet
and you can't have carbs, what you crave is the texture of bread or the
crispiness of a potato chip, she said. What really helps with that is
pickles. It stopped me from eating
more!"
Carmen Electra: The former Baywatch star
reportedly carries a vial of grapefruit oil around with her, sniffing it
whenever hunger strikes. Apparently the wacky secret has worked for her,
as Carmen got into
her old red Baywatch bathing suit earlier this year at age 40 for an In
Touch magazine spread.
Nicole
Kidman: While filming the movie
Cold Mountain in 2003, Nicole Kidman reportedly lived on eggs! The
actress ate a hard-boiled egg for both breakfast and lunch, followed by
two eggs for dinner‹or sometimes three, if she got extra hungry.
Anne Hathaway: You won’t want to try this
one, but Anne lost 25 pounds to play the role of starving prostitute
Fantine in the film
Les Miserables. Anne reportedly ate just two thin squares of dried
oatmeal paste a day. Doctors monitored her progress and she put weight
back on after completing the grueling role, for which she won the Oscar.
Katie Holmes: Tom Cruise’s ex loses weight by consuming only carrot soup
for breakfast, yam
for lunch, and raw broccoli for dinner. She avoids all fruits due to
their high sugar content, except for the occasional berries, and snacks
on almonds.
Jennifer Aniston:
The former
Friends always looks great and she swears by skipping breakfast,
consuming only a glass of freshly squeezed lemon juice every morning,
claiming it removes fat and waste.
Beyonce:
Beyonce famously used Master Cleanse to drop about 20 pounds for her role
in the 2006 film
Dreamgirls. For at least 10 days, those on the plan give up solid foods
in favor of fluids. The diet involved consuming nothing but a mixture of
maple syrup, cayenne pepper, and lemon juice, as
well as having laxative tea every night and starting mornings with a
class of lukewarm salt water. Did it work? Yes, but Beyonce has said,
I was just shrinking and shrinking. People were like: Are you OK? I
didn’t feel good."
Victoria Beckham:
The Spice Girl, fashion designer, and mom of four is known for her skinny
form. And a source revealed Posh even did facial yoga to stay slim and
young! According to
the source, Victoria was doing facial exercises in front of a mirror.
Angelina Jolie:
Long known for her skinny frame, Angelina has been adventurous in her
eating habits. While visiting Cambodia, she tried all sorts of insects,
naming cockroaches as her
favorite kind.
Reese Witherspoon: The
Walk the Line star has been known to spoon baby food instead of breakfast
and lunch to slim down. Supposedly, Reese consumes pots of pureed
fruits and veggies in order to ease digestion and detoxify the body. At
night, however, she chows down on a
regular dinner.
Snooki: The former
Jersey Shore star followed Dr. Siegal’s cookie diet, which consisted of
eating six cookies that contain milk protein and beef and one real meal
per day.
January Jones: After January gave birth
to her son Xander in September 2011, the Mad Men star turned her own
placenta into capsules which she swallowed every day. The actress said
placenta contains high levels of a hormone which helps shrinks your
uterus back to its regular size after giving
birth.

Renee Zellweger: Renee has said she’s crunched on ice cubes to lose
weight‹and it wasn’t
too bad! As long as I get that Œconstant feed’ feeling, it’s
semi-tolerable, she said.
