Miley Cyrus and her mother lunched with the star's new galpal Kaitlynn Carter and got Tish's approval, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.
The Saturday, August 17, pow wow was important to Cyrus, who split from husband Liam Hemsworth and flaunted a new romance with Brody Jenner's ex Carter, a source close to her told RadarOnline.com. "Miley just wanted to face this situation head on and she needed her mother to sit down with her and Kaitlynn and know that this is not just a publicity stunt.
The Wrecking Ball singer, 26, "has fallen for Kaitlynn and Tish was the only one of her family members not in full support of this." According to the source, "Tish was hanging onto hopes that she would have a grandbaby and that Liam was the only way that this would happen. Miley told her she needs to let that notion go because she is not getting back together with Liam. It's done."
RadarOnline.com's insider added, "They came out of this little gathering with a full understanding and Miley now has her mother's full acceptance and support."
Cyrus and Carter were spotted making out and getting cozy poolside at the Il Sereno resort in Lake Como, Italy, on Friday, Aug. 9.
