Back To Work Already? Meghan Markle Visits Crisis Volunteers Amid Birth Of Baby Boy
May 10 2019, Updated 4:24 p.m. ET
That was fast! New photos have surfaced of Meghan Markle’s latest philanthropic efforts in support of a new crisis hotline called Shout. The Duchess of Sussex is currently at home taking care of her and Prince Harry's first child, Archie, – but the photos, taken during her pregnancy in November, were just revealed. As RadarOnline.com readers know, Meghan gave birth to her first child with Prince Harry on Monday, May 6.
In an exciting announcement on the Royal Family’s website, the family released in a statement, “We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019. The Duchess and baby are both healthy and well, and the couple thank members of the public for their shared excitement and support during this very special time in their lives. More details will be shared in the forthcoming days.”
On Wednesday, May 8, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a grand entrance with their newborn at Windsor Castle, where the new mom gushed about her baby’s “calm” temperament. “He’s just been the dream. It’s been a special couple days,” Meghan told a reporter present at the event.
Hours later, Prince Harry and Meghan announced their son’s full name: Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. As many adoring fans assumed Archie was a nod to Princess Diana’s Scottish ancestor, the former actress’s pals claimed to UK outlet The Sun that she actually settled on the name in honor of her dead pet cat!
Royal Baby Sussex’s entrance into the world was only met with more controversy by the Royal Family this week. As RadarOnline.com reported, the Royal Family accidentally referred to Archie as Prince William and Kate Middleton’s baby boy in a flub on their website. “Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was born at 05:26 on Monday 6th May. He is the first child of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and is seventh in line to the throne,” the site reportedly stated in error.
Meghan and Harry were locked in a feud with William and Kate for months ahead of Meghan’s birth. But the four have appeared to reconcile after vowing to make peace for the sake of their children. Click through the gallery to find out more about Meghan’s new philanthropic efforts after birth.
