Mama June Underwent Weight Loss Surgery To Get Revenge On Sugar Bear

"Mama June" Shannon lost weight to get revenge on her ex, Mike "Sugar Bear" Thompson. The reality star dropped the bombshell on her new WE show, i, saying that she decided to drop the pounds when Thompson told her he was getting married -- and that he wanted her to attend the ceremony. On her new reality show's premiere, Shannon, 37, spilled the beans, revealing that she decided to lose weight when her controversial ex, Thompson, revealed his own wedding plans with Jennifer Lamb. And she was invited! The ceremony motivated Shannon to finally slim down, she said.
The TV personality, who first shot to fame on TLC's Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, starring her pageant queen daughter Alana Thompson, recently dissed Lamb, who married Shannon's former common law husband. "I'm just gonna say, she is his type of woman…" she told RadarOnline.com about Sugar Bear's bride. "Let's put it that way. Being bigger. Just everything. He likes bigger girls, like bigger in weight."
Mama June: From Not to Hot episode one, however, showed that Shannon no longer will be Sugar Bear's type as she embarked on a weight loss journey. Shannon's daughters, Alana "Honey Boo Boo" and Lauryn "Pumpkin" cheered her on as she tried to follow a healthier diet on the premiere.
As RadarOnline.com has reported, more than two years after their split, Shannon said she's not happy with the way Sugar Bear has handled co-parenting of their daughter Alana, 11.
Just last month, Sugar Bear walked down the aisle with his new love Lamb. While Shannon sniped at the other woman, when she was asked by RadarOnline.com if she misses her ex, she laughed, "Hell no!"
On her new WE show, Shannon followed workout tapes and ate from the salad bar while on a Tinder date. Viewers saw how Shannon desperately wanted to find a date for Sugar Bear's wedding. However, one potential prospect, a guy named Jeff, walked out of the restaurant midway through his dinner with Shannon. Producers begged him to stay, but Jeff shrugged, "What's the point?"
Shannon couldn't seem to conquer her bad eating habits, so her manager Gina proposed weight loss surgery. The well-known reality TV Mama went to Los Angeles to meet a bariatrics doctor.
