Leon – who is entering her second year at the University of Michigan – couldn't hold back her tears while out in the Big Apple on June 1. "Lordes has been feeling very alone in that city," since coming home for the summer, said the source.

"She is very close to her mom and played an integral part in resolving the problems between Madonna and her brother Rocco," the insider said. "None of Lourdes' siblings have a bond with their mother like she does."

But aside from her mom, "Lourdes has very few friends that are real friends and she cannot trust many people," said the source.

Madonna, 57, has been spending time in London trying to resolve her relationship with Rocco in recent weeks, but she "thinks that it is good for Lourdes to be independent and on her own at times."
