Luke Perry passed away on Monday, March 4, only days after suffering a stroke. But this isn't Perry's first health crisis. Click through RadarOnline.com's gallery to find out more on the 90210 star's medical issues through the years.
During the height of his days starring as Dylan McKay on 90210 in the 1990s, Perry was reportedly terrified of catching AIDS. “Luke is shaking in his boots that he’ll contract the deadly AIDS virus,” a source claimed to The National ENQUIRER at the time. "He's had a lot of girlfriends, women who have thrown themselves at his feet."
Perry admitted he could get out of control when it came to his conquests. “There is no middle ground for me,” he once admitted. “I am either with just one girl or lots of girls, although more than five or six and it gets out of hand.”
In 2015, Perry teamed up with Fight Colorectal Cancer’s One Million Strong awareness campaign. He underwent a routine colonoscopy and discovered he had precancerous growth.
Doctors were able to successfully remove the growths. “I want people to be proactive about their health,” he said at the time, adding, “So many people could save a life if they just go and have a colonoscopy.”
Perry also suffered from back problems, which he fixed through surgery before suffering a stroke, a neighbor of the actor previously revealed to Radar.
Before his death at age 52, Perry was otherwise “healthy,” according to nearby residents who often saw the actor walk his dogs and perform “regular exercise routines.” He also frequented a gym “down the street” from his home in Sherman Oaks, Calif.
Multiple sources claimed to Radar that Perry underwent a second stroke, which led to his untimely death. “It was ultimately a second stroke that killed him,” an insider claimed to Radar. “The first one is the one that you all know about. I don’t know if he ever came out of his medically induced coma.”
