Fans became alarmed recently when actor Liam Neeson was spotted looking frail and thin. But now, a friend reveals that the actor is still alive and thriving. Click through the gallery to find out what led to the actor's shocking weight loss.
Neeson is known for playing high-impact roles in blockbuster action movies, but he was spotted this summer in New York looking extremely thin and frail.
But an insider says that there is no cause for concern.
"Neeson "is as healthy as ever and as hungry for work as ever," the source revealed.
"Neeson blames the weight loss on his changing diet, which was meant to just shave a bit off his beer gut for his movie 'Silence' but went a little too far."
"He cut a lot of calories and started just drinking black coffee."
The actor is determined not to let his gaunt appearance keep him from going after the roles that he wants.
"This is a minor glitch he's fixing and he's going after some very big movie jobs - he's not slowing down in the slightest.
Neeson is set to travel to Asia for a big-budget Korean production.
In the project, he will play General Douglas MacArthur.
The film, titled Operation Chromite, will start shooting this month.
