Pregnant Kylie Jenner has gone to great lengths to stay out of the spotlight before the arrival of her baby girl – but is it jeopardizing her multi-million Kylie Cosmetics empire? The lip kit queen was particularly mum when it came to her most recent launch on January 23 of her brand new Blue Honey palette and four velvet liquid lipsticks. Jenner’s beauty collections are known to sell out in minutes, if not seconds – and this time her new products are still available after hours of being for sale!
The youngest Kardashian-Jenner regularly posts swatches showing off each new color of her eyeshadows and lipsticks on her social media accounts – and on January 23, she failed to do so. Instead, the 20-year-old posted an Instagram story just 10 minutes before the launch at 3 PM PST. “10 minutes till Blue Honey launches on KylieCosmetics.com”, she captioned the photo.
The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star quickly became known as a makeup mogul after continuously selling out her new products. In the fall of 2014, three of her lip kit colors sold out in less than one minute. The lipsticks were reportedly so popular, they were going for $1,000 on Ebay!
In May 2016, Jenner announced a milestone Kylie Cosmetics reached. “Wow almost sold out of every lip kit on the site,” she tweeted with a surprised emoji face, adding, “this is crazy!” However, as of lately, fans and even Jenner’s family members have noticed a change in her openness. In a recent photoshoot with her sisters, Jenner wrapped up in ample clothing and hid her baby bump.
In August 2016, Jenner debuted her eyeshadow kits, otherwise known as “kyshadow” kits, and again they sold out in under one minute.
Jenner’s business became such a hit that her older sisters started getting involved. In a joint partnership with her big sis Khloe, the two created the Koko Collection. The collection sold out, and in June 2017, Jenner shared that the company was having a “huge” restock. Khloe is also expecting her first child with boyfriend Tristan Thompson.
In June 2017, Travis Scott’s girlfriend tweeted that she woke up to news that she was the youngest entry on the Forbes 100 list due to her success as the founder of Kylie Cosmetics.
The news wasn’t as shocking to the rest of the world, who has watched her success rise especially quickly. Around the same time news broke that Jenner was pregnant with her boyfriend Travis Scott’s child, Kylie launched a “birthday” collection which reportedly also sold out.
While Jenner is used to repeatedly selling out her products and having to do major restocks to please her loyal fans, her recent January 23 seems to be different. As of 3 pm EST, or nine hours after launching her new products, all items are still available on KylieCosmetics.com.
