Then, in response to Kim's scathing video posting, Taylor released a statement through Instagram, accusing the couple of "character assassination."

"You don't get to control someone's emotional response to being called 'that bitch' in front of the entire world," Swift said in her statement, adding, "Kanye promised to play the song for me but he never did."
