According to Halperin’s source, Kardashian and West are rarely together when the cameras are off. "She’s never with him," the source told the author.
So much for love. The 34-year-old mother of two, who welcomed son Saint in December, has an “agreement” with her eccentric musician hubby, the insider explained: “I think they got married with some sort of agreement to have kids together, but to lead separate lives.”
The insider, who has known the E! reality star for years, "was not surprised" when she married the rapper, 38. "Kim was always very open about wanting to meet a man more rich, famous and powerful than her," the source, a female model, said. "She definitely found that guy in Kanye."
On his side, West’s intentions were far from pure, she added. Devastated after the tragic death of his mother Donda, "he never got over it until he met Kim and loved how big a family she had."
Kardashian’s controlling momager became more of a draw to West than her daughter. "He was smitten with Kris Jenner," the source explained in the book. "In fact, I don’t think he would have married Kim if Kris Jenner wasn’t on the scene."
West found the 60-year-old matriarch "smart, loving, and business-savvy," the insider said. "He was enamored."
Less than two years after the fairytale wedding, the marriage seems to be crumbling already. When in the same home, sources tell RadarOnline.com, they sleep in separate bedrooms! "They aren’t happy," the source says.
