Since Matt Lauer was fired and Hoda Kotb, 53, was chosen to replace him, rumors started flying that Gifford would try to get Philbin to be her new co-star.
“The biggest fear is that Kathie Lee will want to pick Hoda’s replacement,” an insider revealed to RadarOnline.com earlier this month.
Gifford’s feud with Megyn Kelly, 47, all began when NBC decided to send Hoda Kotb with Savannah Guthrie to the Winter Olympics.
Network execs reportedly suggested Kelly take Kotb’s spot on Gifford’s morning show, but she refused to co-host with her! Now, they are on icy territory.
