Kanye West’s tweets are all the rage nowadays. From announcing his new albums—a solo album featuring seven new songs and a collaborative album with Kid Cudi scheduled to drop on June 1 and June 8, respectively—to sharing his captivating tweets about “freedom of thought” and… President Donald Trump, Kanye West has really shaken things up recently.

West, who is an artistic genius and undoubtedly one of the most influential people of our time, set Twitter ablaze with his highly-anticipated return to the social media platform after an 11-month hiatus. But it wasn’t just Twitter that was buzzing about Kanye West and his tweets, it was also the media, the highest echelon of the political elite, and even President Trump himself.

After his return to Twitter, Kanye West’s account has been a fertile source of thought-provoking tweets. The “Famous” rapper has been tweeting non-stop and hasn’t been afraid of sparking controversy with his philosophical and motivational musings as well as politically-charged tweets. Twitter had never witnessed a stream of consciousness of that magnitude from a celebrity of that caliber before, but not everyone was amused. West expressed some love for President Trump, called him his “brother,” and shared a photo of his “Make America Great Again” hat signed by Trump with a sharpie, and the world pretty much melted down.

Mr. West needed only several tweets in less than 280 characters each to accomplish something other celebrities can’t do with their feuds, hate-charged disses and rants about their frenemies and explosive interviews. Kanye West is all about love and free-thinking, and it definitely attracts people, which is how Yeezy gained more than 8 million Twitter followers in less than 24 hours, according to SocialBlade.
