Kailyn Lowry left her kids at home to enjoy a tropical getaway with a girlfriend— and she has no apologies for putting herself first. Find out how the Teen Mom 2 star responded to fans who criticized her decision to take an "adults only" vacation in Hawaii.
Amid her nasty divorce from husband Javi Marroquin, Kailyn Lowry and pal Sierra Barnwell took off for Maui, Hawaii yesterday. "Mermaid wishes and starfish kisses," she tagged a photo of herself swimming in clear blue water.
But as the 25-year-old mother of two learned to surf in the Pacific, fans slammed her for taking a vacation sans her sons Isaac, 5, and Lincoln, 2.
"How does she deserve a vacation? She doesn't work and has her kids part time," one Twitter follower wrote. "When you're a parent, isn't having your kids with you a must?" asked another.
"Really?" a livid Lowry tweeted in response. "Cause I go to school full time and I've had my kids by myself for the past 6-7 months."

As RadarOnline.com reported, Lowry cared for little Lincoln alone while estranged husband Marroquin was deployed in the Middle East. (While he was away, the two endured a messy split complete with cheating accusations. Of course, the drama has continued into his return home.)
On top of parenting Lincoln alone, Lowry shared custody of older son Isaac with ex Jo Rivera during the deployment.
A source close to the MTV star insists both boys are well taken care of while their mom travels. "It's the dads' week, so Jo has Isaac, and Javi has Lincoln," the insider explained.
Indeed, both baby daddies and the boys were spotted by a fan at a local aquarium.
