As RadarOnline.com reported, Carrey’s ex, Cathriona White, committed suicide by overdose at age 30 in her Sherman Oaks home in September 2015. White’s family accused Carrey of causing her death and alleged the actor gave White an STD, which his late girlfriend had also alleged in a lawsuit filed long before her death.
After White’s suicide, Carey continued to deny the claims, insisting he was “blinded by affection” and the victim of extortion. Carrey had been fighting the legal battle for years, and his lawyer claimed White forged the medical documents in order to make it seem like the actor had given her herpes.
White’s family filed request last January at Los Angeles Superior Court to dismiss their suit with prejudice, meaning they cannot re-litigate their wrongful death claim against Carrey.
In return, the funnyman dropped his countersuit against his late ex-girlfriend’s grieving family. According to court documents obtained by RadarOnline.com, Carrey also dropped his countersuit against White’s parents, Mark Burton and Brigid Sweetman, the same day. We pay for juicy info!
