Dugard also said she wanted to make it clear that she doesn't want to give Philip and Nancy Garrido, the couple who kidnapped her at age 11 in 1991, "any more" of her time.

Dugard was held captive in tents at the back of the couple's home in Antioch, CA, where she gave birth to her two daughters, both the result of being raped by her kidnapper. Garrido was jailed for 431 years for the kidnapping and his wife was given 36 years. But according to new reports, they could be released much earlier thanks to the Elderly Prisoners Parole program. Philip could get out by 2034!

Dugard arrived at the book store accompanied by several people closest to her, including her aunt Tina, her media representative Nancy Seltzer, whose nickname is "Nanny Goat," three girlfriends and a male pal. Her mother, Terry Probyn, was not there. Around 100 people attended the event and bought copies of her book.

Dugard told the crowd, "This is my first book signing so forgive me if I sound nervous. This new book is very very different from my first book. That first book, A Stolen Life, was important for me and hard to do. This new book is not a 'train wreck' book. It's about moving on and letting go, laughing out loud and having hope."

Despite her horrific ordeal, Dugard had an upbeat outlook on life. "I'm truly grateful for every moment I've been given," she told the crowd. "This new book is about me, enjoying life with my family and friends. I hope this one is joyful to read and I hope you can hear the joy in it that I had writing it."

She explained why she wrote a second book. "I want this book to spread a message that even though we all go through stuff and we all have our stories it's OK and no one can judge you for that. This book took me a lot of time and I had a lot of help from my therapist Rebecca; she taught me that you can grow form these things and move on and laugh at life," she said.
