The co-stars, who play husband and wife in the movie, have undeniable chemistry in this shot.
McAdams told Refinery29 that she studied interviews with the wives of boxers for her role in the film -- and even put on the gloves herself for a bit.
She told the outlet: "I did a little bit of boxing ... just to get a sense of what it is; just to understand it better."
The leading man of Brokeback Mountain, Jarhead and Donnie Darko also threw himself into the role, training twice a day for five months in preparation.
Gyllenhaal, posed here with NBA champ Stephen Curry, told Access Hollywood he's "very proud" of the film, which opens in theaters nationwide July 24. "I'm proud of the fact that it's a movie that seems like a boxing film, but really is a family movie about the relationship between a father and a daughter, which moves me so much."
