Huntington Beach, California, mom MaryLou Sarkissian's ex-boyfriend has been charged with her murder after police found her dead body in her own home last week. Meanwhile, his lengthy prison rap sheet has been exposed!
Jason Becher was arrested in Oregon after fleeing the state and was charged in California with the murder of his ex-girlfriend on December 5, 2016. The Orange County Calif. District Attorney's office added "lying in wait" as a special-circumstances sentence enhancement. Sarkissian's body was found in her home on Friday, December 2, 2016, after one of Becher's friends called police and asked them to make a welfare check. Court records showed that Becher had been sentenced to lengthy prison terms over a decade ago.
Becher had a relationship with Sarkissian, and her sister, Debbie Zdrazil, was granted a restraining order against him in September, according to court documents obtained by The Los Angeles Times. She said in court papers that he owned or had access to a gun. A vigil attended by friends and family was held at Huntington Beach restaurant Sea Salt Woodfire Grill on December 5, 2016.
Zdrazil also claimed that Becher was harassing her via texts and voicemails beginning on June 28, 2016. "He also has impersonated me by posting false advertisements about me on the Internet, causing strangers to harass me and bombard my phone with phone calls, texts and texts with offensive pictures," Zdrazil said in the court documents. She claimed that Becher told her that her sister owed him $1,600 and had cheated on him while he was away on a business trip.
According to the court papers, Becher sent two threatening text messages to Zdrazil, writing: "I'm serious this is the bottom line. I'm not in town but you know how small the world is. I have friends in low places. I have all your address." According to the report, he also wrote, "Your sister better settle this matter are sic sh*t is going to hit the fan."
According to the documents obtained by The LA Times, Becher also was sentenced to three years and eight months in prison in 2001 for felony charges of "corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant, assault with a deadly weapon or force likely to produce great bodily injury, false imprisonment and possession of marijuana for sale." He also pleaded guilty to making criminal threats," but it was unclear how much time he spent in prison. In 2005, Becher pleaded guilty to "inflicting corporal injury and to unlawful taking of a vehicle," and was sentenced to six years and eight months in prison, however it was unclear how much time he served.
