Howard Stern and Kelly Ripa used to be the best of friends, but the shock jock took a personal dig at the perky morning host. Click through RadarOnline.com’s gallery to find out how he dissed Ripa in a nasty new dig.
Stern, 63, returned to his Sirius XM radio show on Monday, July 17, 2017 after a brief summer vacation and wasted no time dissing his ex-friend, Ripa, 46. The New York entertainers were once so close that Ripa's husband, Marc Consuelo, even performed the marriage ceremony between Stern and Beth Ostrosky. But Stern attacked Ripa again on air, calling into question her work ethic.
When Ripa’s co-host on Live!, Michael Strahan, blindsided her with the news that he was leaving her show for Good Morning America in 2016, she was furious and skipped work the rest of the week, a move that Stern previously slammed. “There wasn't one day when I was being f**ked with that I didn't show up for work,” he said on the air as the scandal exploded. “You have to figure out how to get back on air even if your boss is f**king you.”
Stern criticized her actions, and admitted that they were no longer on speaking terms. “If I felt comfortable calling her I would have said, ‘Take a breath. Go into work.’ When it comes to work, you can't punish the audience and you can't walk off work,” he said.

On the July 17 show Stern again slammed Ripa, comparing the grueling work that he does on his hours-long radio show compared to the product that she put out on her network television show. “A day of our show is a week of Kelly Ripa’s show,” Stern told his sidekick Robin Quivers who laughed at the comparison.
Back when Ripa was sulking during her fight with ABC over Strahan’s jump to GMA, Stern condemned her decision to not show up for work. “However it is, you must go on the air, you have a contract...you can't play hooky on your own show.” He admitted that she was “treated unfairly. Deal with it. You gotta show up for work.”
With the addition of Ryan Seacrest as her co-host, Ripa was struggling to maintain her hold on her audience for the show. As RadarOnline.com previously reported, the ratings dropped a whopping 25 percent after he joined the show.
Stern also previously slammed Ripa for her behavior considering her gigantic salary. “We've all been humiliated and we don't make 20 million,” he said about her alleged actions despite her hefty paycheck.
