Sadly Ellen, 60, lost her father Elliot recently after he passed away aged 92. The pair endured a strained relationship over the years although she was able to say a ‘final goodbye’ before he died.
The comic is known not to be a big fan of her former girlfriend Anne Heche, 48, and infamously banned her from appearing on her show.
Ellen and her wife Portia de Rossi, 44, have endured a stormy relationship over the years. At a Hollywood Hills house party last summer they had a big fight while Portia was spotted walking around smoking a joint.
The comedian is known to campaign for gay rights but that does not extend to Caitlyn Jenner. The famous pair no longer talk after Caitlyn, 67, dissed Ellen in her book The Secrets of My Life.
Ellen has suffered some health scares over the years and was allegedly about to enter rehab because her drinking had become an issue with wife Portia. Ellen was rushed to hospital after a reported drunken fall at her home.

Ellen faced backlash and a lawsuit after a woman claimed her joke about a ‘boob’ had left her with trauma! In the lawsuit, which was filed in a Georgia federal court on June 2, the plaintiff, Titi Pierce, alleged DeGeneres slandered her by calling her ‘titty’ on a sketch segment called ‘What’s Wrong With These Ads … And These Signs.’
