Elle Macpherson & New Married Boyfriend Blindsided His Family: 'They Are Heartbroken'

Elle Macpherson’s surprising relationship with notorious anti-vaccine campaigner Andrew Wakefield is creating controversy within his family, RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal. Macpherson, 54, and the British doctor — a friend of President Donald Trump — have been “inseparable” since getting together earlier this year. But sources close to his devastated wife, Carmel, told RadarOnline.com he’s turned his back on her and their four children and is now planning a future with the Australian star, nicknamed The Body. During an exhaustive investigation in Austin, Texas, where Wakefield built a $1.4 million Tuscan-style villa for his family before abandoning them, RadarOnline.com discovered Macpherson has been traveling extensively with Wakefield, and she was recently introduced to his brother, artist Tim Wakefield, in Nashville, Tenn. “It’s been very hush hush since news broke of their relationship, and they wanted to enjoy themselves somewhere they wouldn’t be photographed,” an insider revealed, claiming Wakefield has “abandoned” 61-year-old Carmel and their four kids — sons James, 29, Samuel, 27 and Coren, 21, and daughter, Imogen, 24.
Macpherson has yet to publicly confirm the relationship with Wakefield, who she is believed to have initially met in Orlando at the Doctors Who Rock Awards in late 2017. He moved out of the family home weeks afterwards — before officially splitting from his wife, a voice actor and radio host, in April.
“Everyone is worried they are moving too fast and not thinking about the family he’s leaving behind, but they are in their own world and are doing what they want to do,” said the source.
“His family was stunned when they got together as he said he was figuring things out,” the insider told RadarOnline.com. “He still hasn’t filed for divorce from Carmel, but all of a sudden he’s talking about his future with Elle, even though she hasn’t even met his kids yet. They’re under the impression he has moved into her place in Miami part-time.”
It’s believed the fledgling couple moves between Miami, where Macpherson owns a home, and Texas, where he’s in temporary digs since leaving he family compound he built for his wife and children. But if he’s hoping to play happy family with his new supermodel girlfriend and his adult children, he might be out of luck, said the insider.
“The kids have been through hell, they are struggling to understand why their dad has done this, and why he appears to have moved on so quickly,” the insider said of Wakefield, who was photographed kissing Macpherson in July at a farmers’ market in Miami.
“It’s been very embarrassing for Carmel, as she stood by him through all the controversy, for him to up and leave like that — she’s still in shock,” a close family source told RadarOnline.com. “The children are heartbroken and barely speaking to him. When strangers ask about him they say they’re not related.”
Macpherson’s new relationship comes after she reportedly walked away with $79 million in her divorce from billionaire Jeffrey Soffer in 2017.
