According to reports, Diddy "fought back" tears while giving his eulogy for Porter at Cascades Hills Church in Columbus, Georgia. He got by with a little help from his friends, including Blige.
Diddy was so overcome with sadness that he wasn't sure if he would be able to speak to the crowd about the love of his life. But at the November 24 service, he decided to deliver the eulogy, sources told a website. Porter was buried next to her late mother.
The rapper reportedly had a tough time getting though the eulogy, but soldiered on. Porter got a grand sendoff as her body had been placed in a golden casket.
She had never married Diddy, but it was a long on-again, off-again relationship. Porter was the mother of the star's 11-year-old twins Jessie James and D’Lila. Porter and Diddy also shared son Christian, 20 and she also had a 27-year-old son, Quincy.
As the Daily Mail has reported, Diddy and other funeral mourners left the church in a procession to the song "What’s Going On" by Marvin Gaye.
At one point, Diddy was seen sitting alone by Porter's tomb. He had a hard time keeping his composure. The rapper held hands with his close friend Blige for comfort during the day. As RadarOnline.com reported, Diddy attended Porter's wake on Friday night, as did Kimora Lee Simmons and her husband Tim Leissner.
Porter reportedly had complained she was suffering from the flu before her shocking death. Her body was found in bed on November 15.
Porter's death at such a young age at her Toluca Lake, Calif. home remains a mystery.
RadarOnline.com learned Porter's "cause of death was deferred" by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office. Officials said additional tests needed to be performed but her body was released.
Porter's funeral was all about sharing the good times of her life that was sadly cut too short. Among the celebrity mourners, along with Blige and Simmons, were Dallas Austin, Yolanda Adams, Faith Evans, and Winnie Harlow. Diddy wrote on Instagram, "Today we lay to rest our Angel!"
