Nothing lights up a Star Wars red carpet quite like Daisy Ridley. Since joining the franchise in 2014 with Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, Ridley has brought a sexy and polite energy to the events. Her dry wit and subtle sense of humor are always on display. And those outfits too, right?
Ridley plays Rey, a central character to three Star Wars films that make up the overarching, nine-act story. And with so many Star Wars events, Ridley is always there to blow us away with her latest stunning outfit and her gorgeous presence.
Thus far, Ridley — born Daisy Jazz Isobel Ridley — has starred in Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens, Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi and Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise Of Skywalker with lots of other spin-offs to her résumé too. Take a look at how much brighter the Star Wars red carpets are with her on them.
1. Star Wars Celebration.
In April 2019, Daisy Ridley appeared at The Rise of Skywalker panel at the Star Wars Celebration hosted in Chicago. She was there alongside two of the producers, as well as Naomi Ackie (Jannah) and Kelly Marie Tran, who plays Rose Tico.
2. Empire Awards.
Ridley walked the red carpet and posed in the winner’s room at the 2018 TV Empire Awards in London where Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi won the award for Best Film. According to the Standard, Ridley took home Best Actress. She posed alongside director Rian Johnson, producer Ram Bergman and Mark Hamill.
3. Shanghai Premiere.
Each Star Wars movie has screenings around the world making for many premieres that the cast has to attend. Ridley was seen at the Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi premiere in Shanghai — at the Shanghai Disney Resort. She appeared with director Rian Johnson and Mark Hamill as well as BB-8 and R2-D2.
4. Box Office Blowout.
In 2017, Ridley appeared with fellow Star Wars cast members John Boyega and Hamill at the Corinthia Hotel London for the Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi photo shoot. They had reasons to smile! According to CGTN, the movie’s opening weekend worldwide take was almost $451 million.
Don’t forget the European premiere. Ridley and Hamill showed up without light sabers for the European premiere of Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi in December 2017 at London’s Royal Albert Hall. According to JustJared, both Prince William and Prince Harry were in attendance.
6. World Premiere.
The world premiere of Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi took place on December 9, 2017 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. On stage were some of Star Wars’ biggest names — including Anthony Daniels, Lupita Nyong’o, Benicio del Toro, Andy Serkis, Laura Dern, Kelly Marie Tran and, of course, a stunning Ridley.
Ridley even made it out to Mexico City for the Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi fan event. It was a black carpet affair and Ridley dressed accordingly. According to Fashionista, Ridley wore a sleeveless power pantsuit from Paco Rabanne's Spring 2018 collection.
8. D23 Expo.
In 2017, Ridley and Boyega attended Walt Disney’s D23 Expo in Anaheim, California. According to Fashionista, Ridley shone in a matching top and pant set from Lela Rose and sandals from Pierre Hardy.
9. 2016 MTV Movie Awards.
In 2016, Ridley, at just 23, won MTV’s Movie Awards Breakthrough Performance. According to Entertainment Weekly, Ridley said, “It feels especially amazing to be part of a film that represents all genders, all races, and all ages in a positive way.”
10. Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Ridley had been to a Chinese Star Wars premiere before. In 2015, alongside Boyega, the two attended the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, together. According to MSN, the movie broke opening-weekend records in the US, Australia, New Zealand and throughout Europe, scoring the biggest worldwide debut with $529 million ... even before its launch in China.
11. Back To Los Angeles.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens had its actual premiere in Los Angeles at the Dolby Theater. According to Business Insider, most of Hollywood Boulevard was closed to accommodate it — making it a truly massive red carpet event.
Ridley dazzled once again alongside cast mates Boyega, Adam Driver and director J.J. Abrams at the Japanese premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. According to Variety, the movie took just three weeks from its release to become an unchallenged number one.
13. Roppongi Hills.
While in Japan, Ridley attended a fan event for the new movie. According to Nippon News, Ridley was accompanied by Boyega, Driver, J.J. Abrams, R2-D2, BB-8 and a host of Imperial Stormtroopers.
14. South Korea.
Next on the press tour was Seoul, South Korea. Ridley was joined by Driver, Boyega and J.J. Abrams for a press conference. According to StarWarsNewsNet, Ridley told the press, “It’s very exciting to be compared to Princess Leia because she has paved the way for bad-ass women. But Rey is very different. She doesn’t come from privilege. She doesn’t come from royalty. She’s just a young woman trying to make her way with little help and no support.”
15. Octagon Premiere.
Still smiling and still full of energy, Ridley, Boyega, Driver and Abrams found time to attend a special event held just for fans in Seoul. According to Tom and Lorenzo, Ridley was decked out in a Giambattista Valli black sleeveless cocktail dress featuring an embellished neckline and floral panels from the Fall 2015 Couture Collection.
16. Force 4 Fashion.
Ridley, along with castmates Nyong’o and Boyega, attended the Star Wars ‘Force 4 Fashion’ event in New York City. It was a showcase for top designers to auction off bespoke characters they had created that had been inspired by Star Wars.
17. Fashion Finds The Force.
Ridley attended a similar event — where 10 London-based designers showcased catwalk looks inspired by the latest Star Wars film — for a charity auction. It was held in the Old Selfridges Hotel in London and proceeds went to a local children’s hospital.
18. D23 Expo.
Disney’s D23 Expo provided two different red carpets for Ridley to shine, and shine she did at the Anaheim Convention Center. According to the AP, Ridley was concerned with heightened fan expectations for Star Wars: The Last Jedi after the “wonderful feedback” for The Force Awakens.
Anaheim was another destination for Ridley, Boyega and J.J. Abrams, where they attended the Star Wars Celebration in 2015. According to Business Insider, Abrams and producer Kathleen Kennedy showed up with pizza for all the fans who’d been standing in line overnight to get in. How cheesy.
