Chris and Shanann were high school sweethearts, meeting and falling in love in school. He graduated from Pine Forest High School in 2003.
Watts claimed to police he “went on a rage” and “ultimately strangled (his wife) Shanann to death” after seeing her strangling their three-year-old daughter, according to the Officer’s affidavit obtained by Radar.
“While in the bedroom, via baby monitor located on Shanann’s nightstand, he observed Bella ‘sprawled out’ on her bed and blue in the face and Shanann actively strangling Celeste,” the arrest affidavit stated.
Watts told the responding officers in the arrest affidavit that he “loaded all three bodies onto the back of his truck” and took them to a nearby oil field, where he “buried Shanann near two oil tanks and dumped the girls inside the oil tanks.”
After a tearful press conference begging for his family’s return, Watts was arrested and charged with five counts of first-degree murder, three counts of tampering with a dead body, and one count for the “unlawful termination of his wife’s pregnancy.”
