Levine looked solemn as he golfed Tuesday with friends in Los Angeles. That outing was the first time that Levine, 37, had been spotted since the shocking murder of 22-year-old Grimmie, who he mentored on the show in 2014.

As previously reported, Levine offered to pay for the entire funeral for Grimmie, who came in third place on Season 6 of The Voice.

The family of Grimmie's killer posted this sad note to express their condolences for her tragic death. According to a source, "Incredibly, Adam also feels a sense of guilt for Christina's murder."

Although Grimmie hadn't been on The Voice for years, "He is upset that she didn't have more protection at that meet and greet," said the source. And in the meantime, "He said he thinks that The Voice should do even more to protect their stars. He demanded that the show do a huge security overhaul just in case," said the source.

On Monday, Christina's brother Marcus — who is being called a hero after tackling her killer — addressed a crowd and said, ""Christina was awesome. She loved this town, she loved this state, she loved singing, she loved the Lord and she loved me. She was my baby sister."

After shooting Grimmie three times, 27-year-old Kevin James Loibl was shot himself. The source told RadarOnline.com that "Adam is just so devastated over all of this that, right now, he feels like he might not even want to return to the show next season."
